Civic association Plan B was established in 2001 to organize a wide range of activities for un-organized children and youth aged 13-30. Our aim is social and cultural development of local community and involvement young people into voluntary activities. We closely cooperate with Leisure Time Centre Luzanky (LTC Luzanky) which is a region school institution for leisure time activities of all age groups and social groups. LTC Luzanky celebrated already 65 years of its existence and so it is the oldest and at the same time the biggest institution of its art in the Czech Republic. It provides pedagogical, educational and recreational activities of children, young people and adults. Plan B has two workplaces: Labyrinth Club and Volunteer centre 67 (DC67).

Activities of Labyrinth Club are focused on cultural, international and open activities for un-organized youth aged 13 – 18. The Labyrinth Club offers open space for realization of youth initiatives and also wide range of activities focused on self-realization and education of youth.

DC67

DC67 was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting volunteering. DC67 offers activities for individuals - youth aged 15-30 and groups such as in-formal groups and NGOs:

Activities focused on individuals :

  • Information about volunteer opportunities in Brno, the South Moravia Region, the Czech Republic and in the world. Moreover, information about opportunities for personal development and international experience, such as scholarships, workcamps or exchanges, are also provided.
  • Individual support for projects initiated by youth and personal consultancy for young people who are willing to start their own project and do not feel enough competent or confident to do so. Consultation hours are on Wednesday and Thursday from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Activities focused on groups:
  • C67 provide support and offer a meeting place for in-formal groups and NGOs, e.g. in-formal group organizing International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival One World.
  • The aim of DC67 is also form a network and build cooperative relationships among NGOs. Therefore DC67 has already organized three network meetings and closely cooperates with more than fifty NGOs.

Volunteering is also promoted through public campaigns and through thematic evenings. Evenings are usually realized twice a week and host 10 - 30 participants who are interested in the topic and volunteering. Programme of the evenings is focused on the experience with international volunteering, volunteering in the Czech Republic, documentary screenings, openings and presentation of the successful youth projects, discussion about alternative lifestyles etc. Activities of DC67 are provided by 2 part-time workers, 20 external employees and approx. 70 associated volunteers such as students preparing activities during the year and the Multi-Culture and Human Rights team preparing International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival One World.
